The United States may have appeared slow out of the gate with regards to cryptocurrencies it seems they are about to be one of the global leaders dictating the direction the market is heading in.

With Bittrex USA and Huobi USA drastically decreasing their portfolio compared to their global exchanges and with Binance sensibly following suit by already blocking their Binance DEX shitcoin exchange for USA users and now also planning on blocking USA from their main exchange and opening up a smaller scale USA centric regulated exchange, the offering of cryptos to America is going to be far more limited than elsewhere in the world.

Which cryptocurrencies will be available in the USA after the clampdown?

Twitter user Goomba has worked his socks off producing a one stop overview of which cryptos will be available in the United States as we move forward. Give the guy a follow if you appreciate his efforts. His chart includes all the cryptocurrencies currently on the main Binance exchange and shows which USA compliant exchanges they will or will not be on.

The exchanges are:

  • Coinbase
  • Bittrex USA
  • Poloniex
  • Beaxy Exchange
  • Kraken
  • eToro
  • Robinhood
  • Huobi US

Goomba doesn’t list a couple of coins in his chart but these are available on all platforms. So which cryptos will be the most widely available in the States?

Available on all major compliant USA exchanges:

BTC, ETH, XRP, BCH, LTC, ETC

Available on 6 exchanges:

DASH, ZEC

Available on 5 exchanges:

EOS, XLM, XMR, ZRX

Available on 4 exchanges:

ADA, BAT, REP

Important to note:

  • Japan is clamping down on privacy coins and it is possible many countries may ban them completely.
  • The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) still has not clarified most cryptos and while cryptos like Bitcoin, XRP and Ethereum look to be in the clear, other coins like BNB, EOS and others are still very much on the SEC’s radar.
  • Environmentally disastrous Proof of Work (POW) mining coins are also heavily under the spotlight with cryptocurrency mining potentially being heavily regulated and there is even talk of these cryptos being banned in certain jurisdictions though at the time of writing this is not likely any time soon.
