Crypto News & Blogs:

Whilst our crypto news is brought to you from the official sources (in order to remain impartial), we may from time to time be opinionated in our crypto blogs. We have made the clear distinction between actual news and opinion pieces or speculation and feel that other larger crypto news outlets should follow our lead and be far more transparent with what they post. At some point the regulators are going to clamp down on crypto websites who blur the lines between fact and fiction or just plain FUD as many promoted cryptos appear to be nothing more than elaborate pump and dump schemes. When they are on the receiving end of the regulators wrath these publications cannot say they haven’t been warned time and time again.

Famous Cryptocurrency Quotes:

“You can trust math-based currencies as much as science, as much as gold. In fact, gold is also a math-based currency – we don’t need anyone to guarantee that it has 79 protons, it just does.”
2013 – Chris Larsen (Executive Chairman, Ripple)

“If you reveal your private keys for the hacked coins (or a subset of them) you can decentralized-ly at zero cost to you, coordinate a reorg to undo the theft.”
2019 – Jeremy Rubin (Bitcoin Core Dev admitting that Bitcoin can be reversed and rewritten)

“The one thing that’s missing, but that will soon be developed, it’s a reliable e-cash. A method where buying on the Internet you can transfer funds from A to B, without A knowing B or B knowing A. The way in which I can take a 20 dollar bill and hand it over to you and there’s no record of where it came from. And you may get that without knowing who I am. That kind of thing will develop on the Internet.”
1999 – Professor Milton Friedman (1976 winner of the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences)

“It is not right to become rich overnight by betting on blockchain. Blockchain technology could change our world more than people imagine. Bitcoin, however, could be a bubble.”
2018 – Jack Ma (Chinese Investor, Philanthropist and Co-Founder of Alibaba)

“Virtual Currencies may hold long-term promise, particularly if the innovations promote a faster, more secure and more efficient payment system.”
2017 – Ben Bernanke (14th Chairman of the Federal Reserve, the Central Bank System of the United States)

“This whole blockchain deal has the potential it does only because it is applicable across national borders and income groups. The permutations and possibilities are staggeringly great.”
“We could ruin it all by negative identity politics and economic and social policy. You think about that.”
2018 – Bill Clinton (42nd President of the United States)

“Bitcoin itself is creating nothing. When you’re buying non-productive assets, all you’re counting on is the next person is going to pay you more because they’re even more excited about another next person coming along.”
2018 – Warren Buffett (CEO of Berkshire Hathaway)

“The root problem with conventional currency is all the trust that’s required to make it work. The central bank must be trusted not to debase the currency, but the history of fiat currencies is full of breaches of that trust. Banks must be trusted to hold our money and transfer it electronically, but they lend it out in waves of credit bubbles with barely a fraction in reserve. We have to trust them with our privacy, trust them not to let identity thieves drain our accounts.”
2009 – Satoshi Nakamoto (Founder(s) of Bitcoin)

Crypto Disclaimers:

General ICO Warning:

Due to the high number of scams associated with initial coin offerings, Wise Cryptos does not recommend investing in any ICO. There are many sources quoting anything from 80% up to 95% failure rates of Initial Coin Offering for one reason or another. While the exact figures are difficult to accurately identify, the overall trend is worrying and investing in an ICO often feels as risky and irresponsibly as gambling at crypto casinos. This is a real shame for the genuine projects with real promise and practical and useful real world application.

18+ / 21+ Responsible Cryptocurrency Gambling:

You must be 18+ years old or 21+ years old (depending on your jurisdiction) before you are legally allowed to gamble at a crypto casino or a crypto sportsbook. General terms and conditions apply at cryptocurrency casinos and cryptocurrency sportsbooks and bonus terms and conditions apply on any casino or betting bonus should you choose to accept one. Always very carefully read all T&C’s.

Cryptocurrency-blogs

Wise Words – Cryptocurrency Blog:

From time to time we will be writing our own blogs and opinion pieces – Wise Words, if you will. As this website aims to be unbiased and independent, via our Cryptocurrency News section we will not be sharing our opinions on any specific crypto project no matter how strong (positively or negatively) our personal feelings toward that project may be. This is what blogs are for and blogs should never be confused with news.

In our crypto blog we may let our guard down and sometimes slip in some personal opinions or speculation. It should be noted that these are our opinions only and should be taken with a grain of salt. The opinions expressed in our blogs are ours alone and not intended as investment advice.

We cannot state enough how important it is for every investor to do their own extensive research and due dilligence before making any financial investment.

With that all having been said we do hope that we can still bring all of you some intersting, entertaining and occasionally insighful articles on the state of the cryptocurrency ecosystem. We do not expect everyone to agree with everything we write – in fact we will probably be way off the mark with a lot of our musings.

Wise Friends – Cryptocurrency Blog:

If you want to blog about crypto but have nowhere to post your thoughts then please feel free to contact us and we will be more than happy to share your thoughts here – be they positive, frustrated or even if you just want to rant about something. From time to time we will also be conducting interviews with friends of Wise Cryptos which will also be featured in this section.

We will accept most serious guest blogs you may want to submit (and publish them in our Wise Friends section), though we will not accept outright shilling, fake news or FUD.

Promoting scam projects will also not be tolerated.

Thanks once again for all your support and welcome to all our Wise Friends, new and old.

Crypto Blog Feeds:

Due to the huge number of cryptocurrencies and blockchains, most good (ie, those that fully research what they are writing about) bloggers centre their musings on one cryptocurrency or blockchain technology.

On Wise Cryptos we offer you a selection of those bloggers we find interesting, and those that in our opinion do research before writing, and those that we feel offer insights which might not be clearly visible on the surface of the subject.

What we have recently noticed however is that a great deal of crypto blog sites sometimes use “pay per word” writers whose quality and research ranges from average to very poor. Even the very biggest names in the industry occasionally use these services to churn out posts (probably for SEO purposes). Indeed, we have even seen one of the very largest names come out with a weak copy of one of our crypto blogs just a few hours after we posted ours.

Disclaimer: As with any form of journalism, blogs are subject to a certain degree of bias, and, are the opinion of the writer. Wise cryptos does not reccomend investing in any product, be it blockchain, cryptocurrencies, stocks, bonds etc based solely on information found in one source.

Cryptocurrencies past and present

When cryptocurrencies first came to the fore after the global financial crisis of 2008, they were hoped to become the replacement of the traditional financial institutions, the death of money and the end of the gobal banking empire. Very little of that initial ideology remains to this day with even the most hardened crypto anarchists talking up the inevitable institutional foray into the space and the impending launch of crypto exchanges run by the global banking elite, Wall Street, ICE/NYSE, Nasdaq, Fidelity, SBI and many other traditional big players.

Of the initial cryptocurrency white papers (B-Money, Bit Gold being two of the first) only Bitcoin made any real impact and as of 2018 remains the number 1 cryptocurrency by market cap size. Many have speculated on the direction the crypto market will head in the future and Bitcoin in particular has wide ranging predictions with some outspoken sources predicting prices ranging from $50,000 all the way up to $1m whereas other sources predict a massive fall from grace akin to the likes of Netscape, AOL, Pets.com, AltaVista, MySpace and other one time clear market leaders in their respective spaces. Only time will tell.

Some perspective for you though, if we take a look at the top 20 cryptocurrencies from 2014 only Bitcoin, Litecoin and XRP remain in the top 10 with Dash, Dogecoin and Nxt being the only others even in the top 100. Peercoin which was in 3rd position in 2014 has dropped to 183rd spot as of 2018 while other former top coins have fallen out of the top 400.

Cryptocurrencies

Definition of cryptocurrencies

A cryptocurrency (or crypto currency) is a digital asset designed to work as a medium of exchange that uses strong cryptography to secure financial transactions, control the creation of additional units, and verify the transfer of assets. Cryptocurrencies are a kind of alternative currency and digital currency (of which virtual currency is a subset). Cryptocurrencies use decentralized control as opposed to centralized digital currency and central banking systems.

The decentralized control of each cryptocurrency works through distributed ledger technology, typically a blockchain, that serves as a public financial transaction database.

Bitcoin, first released as open-source software in 2009, is generally considered the first decentralized cryptocurrency. Since the release of Bitcoin, over 4,000 altcoins (alternative variants of Bitcoin, or other cryptocurrencies) have been created.

A cryptocurrency with good 24h performance is no indicator of future gains. In fact in a great deal of cases we are talking about so called “pump and dump” coins which are just as likely to quickly perform a complete reversal on their current price gains. Extreme caution should be taken with consistent pump and dump coins and you are literaly gambling your money like you would do by placing a bet on red or black at a cryptocurrency casino. Always do your due diligence before making an investment in any cryptocurrencies and please make sure you are using a reputable crypto exchange.
